Do you like to TAKE quick, simple notes before you MAKE substantive notes in your long-term notes app or second brain? Me too. The apps I’ve used for this in the past all came with some compromise that didn’t fit my workflow. So I created BURNER.d Disclosure: None of the ideas in this app are original. It’s a notes app after all. I just took things I liked and stitched them together in a tool that works for me. And I gave it a visual style I like. Maybe it works for you, too. Burner is an interface to 7 markdown files for you to keep simple notes. No fancy organization, no complexity. Treat it like a set of sticky notes or scratch paper. Write down things you need temporarily. Overwrite them when you don’t need them anymore. Transcribe them into more robust apps when you need to. That’s basically it. You can also sync across computers by keeping the markdown files in Dropbox or another cloud storage solution.
