About Free Coder for Glaze
Free Coder for Glaze is the onboarding companion for glaze-coder, an open source toolkit for developing Glaze apps with your own Claude subscription instead of Glaze credits. Glaze supports editing your apps' source code yourself - this app makes that path easy to set up. One screen checks your machine and fixes what is missing: - Verifies Apple Silicon, Glaze and the bundled Node runtime - Installs the glaze-dev command, the Glaze skills and the Claude Code plugin - Connects Claude Code, with a one-click path to log in - Optional Raycast commands: new app, build and run, edit an app - no terminal needed You also pick a default AI policy for the apps you build. Apps made with glaze-coder let the end user choose whether AI costs anything: built-in Glaze AI, a free Gemini key, OpenRouter free models, or their own Claude subscription - with automatic fallback to a free engine when Glaze credits run out.
