About ProjectBase

ProjectBase is a calm home for everything you're working on, built on a simple idea: your projects are just folders on your Mac, and you can work from either side. Change something in Finder and it shows up in the app. Add or move things in the app and Finder updates too. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is locked in the cloud, and every file opens in the apps you already use. Projects live inside Areas – the parts of your life like Home, Travel, Work, or Side Projects. Each area has its own color, and its projects pick it up automatically, so everything stays visually connected. An area keeps its own shared resources, and also gathers everything from the projects inside it, so you can see the whole picture in one place or zoom into a single project. Inside a project, your files, links, and notes sit together. Break the work into milestones and check them off as you go, with tasks and subtasks underneath – or keep a few loose tasks with none at all. Write notes right in the app as plain Markdown files, saved straight to your project folder, so they stay readable and yours forever. Prioritize on projects through clear stages – Idea, Backlog, Upcoming, and Active – so you can manage what's next within each area at a glance. Mark a project as Done and it's archived, ready to look back on whenever you like. One thoughtful layout, no templates, no setup – just a place to keep your personal projects and actually move them forward.
