About Screen Annotator

Screen Annotator lets you sketch, highlight, and mark up whatever's on your screen without ever touching a file. Press ⌃⌥A (or click the pencil in your menu bar) and start drawing directly over any window or browser tab — your annotations stick to that specific surface, follow it as it moves, and disappear the moment you switch away or close it. Features: - Context-aware drawing — annotations are bound to the exact window or browser tab you made them on, not just your screen - Full toolset — pen, highlighter, arrow, rectangle, text labels, and eraser, with a color picker and three stroke widths - Undo/redo and quick controls to delete a single annotation, clear one surface, or clear everything Global hotkey (⌃⌥A) to jump in and out of draw mode instantly — click-through when you're not drawing, so it never gets in your way - Lives in the menu bar — no dock icon, no cluttered windows, just a quiet pencil icon that lights up while you're drawing - 100% ephemeral — nothing is ever saved to disk; every annotation lives only in memory and disappears when its window or tab closes
