Shelf is a catalogue for physical media — DVD, Blu-ray, 4K — built for people who own the disc on purpose. Your collection appears as a wall of covers on a warm wooden ledge, not as rows in a spreadsheet. Sort by when you added it, by title, year, label, or director, and the shelf reorganizes itself around you. Sort by label and every Criterion, Kino Lorber, and Arrow cover lights up together, the way they'd sit on a real shelf. Open a disc and the case opens with it: a dimmed room, the disc sliding out under a moving highlight. It takes a second, and that second is the point.
