About Sift
Design references disappear into screenshots. Sift is a native macOS menu-bar utility that lets designers select exactly the interface region they care about with ⌘⇧7, then turns it into a compact, copy-ready visual foundation. Capture from any app, drag in a reference image, or paste a screenshot. Sift preserves the selected crop, extracts 2–5 distinct colors rather than inventing a palette, identifies background, surface, accent, and accessible ink, calculates WCAG contrast, detects genuine gradients, and exports ready-to-paste HEX, CSS, SwiftUI, and Tailwind tokens. The core analysis runs locally, stays fast, and keeps the workflow where it belongs: in the menu bar. When Glaze AI credits are available, Sift also offers an optional Design Read for high-level visual-direction and typography cues. It never replaces the local analysis—the capture, palette, contrast, gradient, and token workflow works on its own.
