About Aside
Aside is a calm, lightweight macOS utility for the things that interrupt your work but do not need your attention right now. A link you want to revisit. A file you need tomorrow. A piece of text you do not want to lose. An image, thought, or reference that matters — just not at this exact moment. With Aside, you can park it in seconds and get back to what you were doing. Open Aside from the menu bar or with a global keyboard shortcut, add the item, choose when it should return, and move on. When the time is right, Aside brings it back with the context you saved. Unlike a task manager, Aside does not ask you to organize your life, create projects, assign priorities, or maintain another list. It is a temporary holding space for digital objects that need to wait. Your parked items are stored locally inside Aside’s private Context Vault. Original files stay exactly where they are and are never moved, renamed, or changed. Aside keeps a safe snapshot when needed, along with the useful context around it: what it is, why it mattered, and when you want it back. For an extra layer of support, the optional Remember the context feature can suggest a clearer title, a short context note, and a suitable return time. AI is always opt-in, only runs when you ask for it, and never changes the original content. Aside is designed to stay out of the way: Quick access from the menu bar Global keyboard shortcut Support for text, links, files, images, and clipboard content Flexible return times Local-first storage Optional AI context suggestions Full keyboard navigation VoiceOver support Reduce Motion support No account required No projects, priorities, streaks, or productivity scores. Aside gives your attention somewhere to set things down. Not forever. Just until they matter again.
